Dose: Ophthalmic solution – 1-2 drops of a 1% solution Frequency: repeated after 5 minutes Note: An additional drop may be administered after 20-30 minutes for prolonged effect. |

Administration
- One drop per eye
- Wait 5 minutes between drops
Side Effect
- Transient stinging
- blurred vision
- photophobia and superficial punctate keratitis have been reported with the use of tropicamide
- Increased intraocular pressure has been reported following the use of mydriatics
- Dryness of the mouth
- tachycardia
- headache
- allergic reactions
- nausea
- vomiting
- pallor
- central nervous system disturbances and muscle rigidity have been reported with the use of tropicamide
