Adult Dose

Age: Adults
Dose: Lipid injectable emulsion – 1 to 2 g/kg/day
Frequency: daily
Note: Maximum dosage should not exceed 2.5 g/kg/day. Administered via central or peripheral intravenous infusion. Individual dosage depends on age, energy expenditure, clinical status, body weight, and the patient's ability to metabolize and eliminate lipids.

Child Dose

Indication: Prevention
Age: Infant
Condition: evidence of surfactant deficiency
Dose: Intratracheal – 4 mL/kg birth weight (100 mg of phospholipids/kg birth weight)
Frequency: every 6 hours as needed
Duration: up to 4 doses in 1st 48 hours
Note: Preferably within 15 minutes of birth. To be administered as soon as possible.
Indication: Rescue
Age: Infant
Dose: Intratracheal – 4 mL/kg birth weight (100 mg of phospholipids/kg birth weight)
Frequency: every 6 hours as needed
Duration: up to 4 doses in 1st 48 hours
Note: Preferably by 8 hours of age. To be administered as soon as possible.

Storage
Store unopened vials at refrigeration temperature (2-8°C). Protect from light. Store vials in carton until ready for use. Vials are for single use only.  Upon opening, discard unused drug.
