Adult Dose

Indication: Acute myocardial infarction
Age: Adult
Dose: Intravenous – 1.5 million units
Frequency: Single dose
Duration: Infused over 1 hour
Note: Administer immediately after onset of symptoms.
Indication: Pulmonary thromboembolism; Arteriovenous occlusions
Age: Adult
Condition: Loading dose
Dose: Intravenous – 250,000 units
Duration: Infused over 30 minutes

Child Dose

Indication: Pulmonary thromboembolism ; Arteriovenous occlusions
Age: Child
Dose: Intravenous – Loading dose: 2500-4000 units/kg
Frequency: over 30 min
Note: Initial dose may be estimated by streptokinase resistance test
Indication: Pulmonary thromboembolism ; Arteriovenous occlusions
Age: Child
Dose: Intravenous – 500-1000 units/kg/hr
Frequency: infusion
Duration: continued until reperfusion occurs, up to 3 days
Note: Monitor treatment by maintaining thrombin clotting time at 2-4 times normal values
