Adult Dose

Indication: Complex Partial Seizures
Dose: Oral – 10-15 mg/kg/day initially; increase by 5-10 mg/kg/day at weekly intervals
Note: May increase dose up to 60 mg/kg/day; indicated as monotherapy and adjunctive therapy for complex partial seizures that occur either in isolation or in association with other types of seizures
Indication: Simple and Complex Absence Seizures
Dose: Oral – 15 mg/kg/day initially
Frequency: divided every 6-12 hours
Note: Increase by 5-10 mg/kg/day at weekly intervals; may increase dose up to 60 mg/kg/day; also indicated for use as sole and adjunctive therapy in the treatment of simple and complex absence seizures, and adjunctively in patients with multiple seizure types that include absence seizures
