Adult Dose

Indication: Hypoglycaemia
Age: Adult
Dose: Intravenous – 10-25 g (20-50 ml of 50% solution)
Frequency: may be repeated in severe cases
Indication: Hyperkalaemia
Age: Adult
Dose: Intravenous – 25-50 g combined with 10 units of regular insulin
Duration: administered over 30-60 minutes
Note: may repeat if necessary

Child Dose

Indication: Hypoglycaemia
Age: Child: less than 6 months
Dose: Intravenous – 0.25-0.5 g/kg/dose
Note: Doses may be repeated in severe cases. Maximum: 25 g/dose.

Dose: Intravenous – 0.5-1 g/kg/dose
Note: Doses may be repeated in severe cases. Maximum: 25 g/dose.
