Dose: Oral solution – 25 ml added to 100 ml of water Frequency: 8 doses daily Duration: course of treatment does not normally exceed 3 days |

Administration
- Mix with water as directed
- Drink solution within 24 hours
Side Effect
- Electrolyte disturbances particularly hyperkalaemia and hypokalaemia
- abdominal pain
- diarrhoea
- headache
- peripheral edema may appear
- Nausea
- abdominal bloating
- cramping and flatulence may occur
- High doses may produce diarrhea and excessive stool frequency
- particularly in elderly nursing home patients
- Patients taking other medications containing polyethylene glycol have occasionally developed urticaria suggestive of an allergic reaction
