Adult Dose

Indication: Constipation
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 5-10 mg
Frequency: once daily
Note: as a single dose, usually at bedtime
Indication: Bowel evacuation before investigational procedures
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 10 mg
Frequency: given in the morning and again in the afternoon of the day before examination
Note: with Magnesium citrate

Child Dose

Age: 1 month to less than 4 years
Dose: Oral – 0.25 mg/kg
Note: Maximum: 5 mg; Doses are usually given at night.
