Adult Dose

Indication: Treatment of acute gout flares
Dose: Tablet – 1.2 mg
Frequency: by mouth at first sign of flare, then 0.6 mg 1 hour later
Note: Not to exceed 1.8 mg in 1-hour period
Indication: Prophylaxis of gout flares
Dose: Tablet – 0.6 mg
Frequency: by mouth once daily or every 12 hours
Note: Not to exceed 1.2 mg/day; after gout flare, wait 12 hours to continue prophylaxis

Age: less than 16 years
Dose: Oral – Not recommended
Note: Not recommended

Dose: Oral – 1.2 mg

Note: not to exceed 1.8 mg in 1-hour period; by mouth (oral)

Renal Dose

Condition: Renal impairment, Mild (CrCl 50-80 mL/min) and moderate (CrCl 30-50 mL/min)
Dose: Tablet – Dosage adjustment not necessary
Note: Monitor patients for adverse effects
Indication: Gout
Condition: Renal impairment, Severe (CrCl less than 30 mL/min)
Dose: Tablet – Dosage adjustment not necessary
Note: Do not repeat more frequently than every 2 weeks
