Adult Dose

Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 20-30 mg/day
Frequency: divided every 8-12 hours
Note: 30-45 minutes before meals; some patients may require 40-60 mg/day; in others, 10-15 mg/day may be adequate
Indication: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 20-30 mg/day
Frequency: divided every 8-12 hours
Note: 30-45 minutes before meals; may gradually increase dose at weekly intervals; some patients may require 40-60 mg/day; in others, 10-15 mg/day may be adequate

Child Dose

Dose: Oral – 5 mg
Frequency: twice daily
Note: 30-45 minutes before breakfast and lunch initially; may increase by 5-10 mg/day at weekly intervals; not to exceed 60 mg/day divided twice daily or three times daily; by mouth (oral)
Indication: Narcolepsy
Age: greater than 6 years
Dose: Oral – 5 mg
Frequency: every 12 hours
Note: may increase by 5-10 mg/day weekly; not to exceed 60 mg/day; by mouth (oral)

  • Take on an empty stomach
