Adult Dose

Indication: Breast Cancer Treatment
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 20 mg
Frequency: daily as a single or in 2 divided doses
Duration: at least 5 years
Note: Maximum: 40 mg daily. Continue with adjuvant therapy for at least 5 years. For women with estrogen receptor-positive disease, continuing tamoxifen to 10 years rather than stopping at 5 years produces a further reduction in recurrence and mortality, particularly after year 10.
Indication: Breast Cancer Prevention
Age: Adult
Condition: High risk (aged greater than 35 years with a 5-year predicted risk of breast cancer greater than 1.67% calculated by the Gail Model)
Dose: Oral – 20 mg
Frequency: once daily
Duration: 5 years
Note: Data are limited for use greater than 5 years in the risk-reduction setting.

Indication: McCune-Albright Syndrome and precocious puberty
Age: Girls 2 to 10 years
Dose: Tablet – 20 mg
Frequency: once daily
Note: by mouth (oral)
