Adult Dose

Indication: Management of acute pain
Age: Adult
Dose: Parenteral intravenous/intramuscular – Initially 40 mg
Frequency: followed by 20 or 40 mg every 6-12 hours as required
Note: Maximum: 80 mg/day
Indication: Prevention or reduction of post-operative pain
Age: Adult
Dose: Parenteral intravenous/intramuscular – 40 mg
Frequency: 30-45 minutes prior to surgical incision
Note: May be continued post-operatively as needed for adequate effect
