Adult Dose

Indication: Dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 8-12 mg/kg
Frequency: once daily at bedtime or in 2 divided doses
Duration: continued for 3-4 months after radiological disappearance of gallstones. Up to 2 years.
Indication: Dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones

Condition: Obese patients
Dose: Oral – Up to 15 mg/kg
Frequency: daily
Duration: Up to 2 years.

Child Dose

Clinical InformationAdministration Information
Indication: Neonatal cholestasis associated with parenteral nutrition, biliary atresia and cystic fibrosis
Age: Neonate
Dose: Oral, OGT, or NGT – 10 to 15 mg/kg
Frequency: Every 12 hours
Note: by mouth (oral), orogastric tube, or nasogastric tube
Administration
  • Should be taken with food
  • Take at same time each day
