Administration

Administer topically for ophthalmic irrigation by directing a steady stream of the solution into the lower conjunctival sac while the patient looks up. For chemical injuries, initiate immediate, copious irrigation for at least 15 to 30 minutes, ensuring the eyelids are held apart or everted to reach all areas. The solution should be at room temperature or lukewarm to minimize discomfort. Check the pH of the eye and visual acuity before and after the procedure to assess the effectiveness of the irrigation. Discontinue use and consult a physician if irritation, pain, or redness persists or if vision changes occur. Avoid contaminating the applicator tip.
