Adult Dose

Indication: Schizophrenia
Dose: by mouth – 40 mg
Frequency: once daily initially
Note: may increase to 80 mg/day if needed; not to exceed 160 mg/day
Indication: Bipolar Depression
Condition: major depressive episodes associated with bipolar I disorder; may be used as either monotherapy or adjunctive therapy with lithium or valproate
Dose: by mouth – 20 mg
Frequency: once daily initially
Note: may increase dose if needed, not to exceed 120 mg/day
