Adult Dose

Clinical InformationAdministration Information
Indication: Acute migraine attacks
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – Initially 2.5 mg
Frequency: as needed
Note: A second dose may be taken at least 2 hours after the first dose if symptoms recur within 24 hours. Maximum dose: 10 mg in 24 hours. Safety of treating greater than three headaches in a 30-day period has not been established.
Indication: Acute migraine attacks
Age: Adult
Condition: Hepatic impairment
Dose: Oral – Dose reduction may be needed
Note: Dose reduction may be needed with blood pressure monitoring.

Child Dose

Indication: Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura
Age: 12 years and older
Dose: Nasal spray – 2.5 mg
Frequency: May repeat after 2 hours if migraine has not resolved or returns
Note: Maximum Dose: 10 mg in any 24-hour period

Renal Dose

Clinical InformationAdministration Information
Condition: Severe renal impairment (Creatinine Clearance greater than or equal to 5 to less than or equal to 25 mL/min)
Dose: Tablet
Note: Renal clearance was reduced by 25% compared to the normal group (Creatinine Clearance greater than or equal to 70 mL/min) after oral dosing
Condition: Moderate renal impairment (Creatinine Clearance greater than or equal to 26 to less than or equal to 50 mL/min)
Dose: Tablet
Note: No significant change in renal clearance was observed
Administration
  • Can be taken with or without food
  • Take at first sign of migraine
