Adult Dose

Indication: Hypertension
Age: Adult
Condition: Oral
Dose: Conventional tablet – Initially 100 mg/day
Frequency: once daily or in 2 divided doses
Note: May increase weekly to 400 mg/day depending on response. Maintenance: 100-200 mg/day. Hepatic impairment: Reduce dose.
Indication: Hypertension
Age: Adult

Dose: Extended-release tablet – Initially 25-100 mg
Frequency: once daily
Note: Hepatic impairment: Reduce dose.

Child Dose

Indication: Hypertension
Age: 1-17 years
Dose: Conventional tablet – 1-2 mg/kg/day
Frequency: divided twice daily
Note: by mouth (oral); not to exceed 6 mg/kg/day or 200 mg/day
Indication: Hypertension
Age: greater than 6 years
Dose: Extended-release tablet – 1 mg/kg
Frequency: once daily
Note: by mouth (oral); not to exceed 50 mg/day initially; adjusted on basis of patient response; not to exceed 2 mg/kg/day or less than 200 mg/day
