Adult Dose

Indication: Induction of anesthesia
Age: Adult
Dose: Intravenous injection – 100-150 mg of a 2.5 or 5% solution
Frequency: injected over 10-15 seconds repeated every 30-60 seconds according to response
Note: Max: 500mg. Max in pregnancy: 250mg.

Dose: Continuous infusion – 0.2 or 0.4% solution
Note: Max: 500mg. Max in pregnancy: 250mg.

Child Dose

Dose: Intravenous – 2-7 mg/kg
Duration: over 10-15 seconds
Note: repeated after 1 minute if needed
Indication: Status epilepticus
Age: Child
Dose: Intravenous injection – 5 mg/kg
Note: by slow intravenous injection followed by a continuous intravenous infusion
