Indication: Ovulation induction Age: Adult |
Dose: Intramuscular or Subcutaneous injection – Initiate with 75 International Units Frequency: once daily Duration: up to 14 days Note: May increase by 37.5 International Units at weekly intervals. Once follicular growth or serum estradiol levels indicates an adequate response, administer a single dose of human chorionic gonadotropin (5,000-10,000 International Units) after the last dose to induce ovulation. Withhold human chorionic gonadotropin if the ovaries are abnormally enlarged or if abdominal pain occurs. Maximum: 300 International Units/day. |

Dose: Intramuscular or Subcutaneous injection – 150-225 International Units Frequency: once daily Duration: at least first 4 days of treatment Note: Adjust dose based on individual ovarian response. Usual maintenance dose: 75-300 International Units for 6-12 days; 375-600 International Units for poor responders. Maximum (clinical studies): 600 International Units/day. Upon adequate follicular development, a single dose of human chorionic gonadotropin (5,000-10,000 International Units) is administered for final oocyte maturation. Oocyte retrieval can be done 34-36 hours later. Withhold human chorionic gonadotropin if ovaries are abnormally enlarged on the last day of follicular treatment. |
