Adult Dose

Indication: Streptococcal Infections Group A (upper-respiratory tract, skin and soft-tissue infections, scarlet fever, and erysipelas)
Age: Adult
Dose: Intramuscular Injection – 2,400,000 units
Frequency: Single session
Note: Usually given using multiple intramuscular sites when indicated. Alternative schedule: one-half (1/2) total dose on day 1 and one-half (1/2) on day 3.
Indication: Pneumococcal Infections (except pneumococcal meningitis)
Age: Adult
Dose: Intramuscular Injection – 1,200,000 units
Frequency: Repeated every 2 or 3 days
Duration: Until temperature is normal for 48 hours
Note: Other forms of penicillin may be necessary for severe cases.

Child Dose
