Adult Dose

Indication: Pregnancy termination in the 2nd trimester/Abortion
Age: Adult
Dose: Intramuscular – Initially, 250 mcg. Alternatively, initiate with test dose of 100 mcg
Frequency: May be repeated at 1.5- to 3.5-hour intervals depending on uterine response
Note: May be increased to 500 mcg if uterine contractility is inadequate. Maximum: 12 mg. Maximum duration: 2 days.
Indication: Postpartum haemorrhage
Age: Adult
Dose: Intramuscular – Initially, 250 mcg by deep injection
Frequency: May be repeated every 15-90-minutes
Note: Maximum: 2 mg.
