Adult Dose

Clinical InformationAdministration Information
Indication: Chorea associated with Huntington disease
Dose: Oral – 6 mg
Frequency: once daily
Note: Initial dose when not being switched from tetrabenazine. Dose is determined individually for each patient based on reduction of chorea and tolerability. May increased dose at weekly intervals in increments of 6 mg/day; not to exceed 48 mg/day. Administer doses greater than 12 mg/day in 2 divided doses.
Indication: Tardive Dyskinesia
Dose: Oral – 6 mg
Frequency: twice daily
Note: Initial dose when not being switched from tetrabenazine. Dose is determined individually for each patient based on reduction of tardive dyskinesia and tolerability. May increased dose at weekly intervals in increments of 6 mg/day; not to exceed 48 mg/day.

May increase risk for parkinsonism, NMS, and akathisia
Alcohol, sedating drugs
May worsen somnolence associated with deutetrabenazine
