Adult Dose

Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 15-60 g
Frequency: in 3-4 divided doses
Note: The intensity and duration of therapy depend upon the severity and resistance of hyperkalemia. Suspended in 30-50 mL water.

Child Dose

Age: Children
Condition: Acute hyperkalaemia
Dose: Oral – 1 g/kg body weight
Frequency: daily in divided doses
Note: An appropriate initial dose
Age: Children
Condition: Maintenance therapy for hyperkalaemia
Dose: Oral – 0.5 g/kg body weight
Frequency: daily in divided doses
Note: Dosage may be reduced to this level for maintenance therapy

  • Take on empty stomach
  • Mix with water before taking
