Administration
- Apply thin layer to affected area
- Do not cover unless directed
Side Effect
- epidermal thinning
- telangiectasia and striae (especially face and flexures)
- Application on eyelid and surrounding skin can cause raised intraocular pressure
- cataracts
- glaucoma
- Corneal ulcer and raised intracranial pressure
- Systemic absorption with adrenal suppression may be seen when applied over large areas
- when skin is broken or under occlusive dressing
- Contact dermatitis
- perioral dermatitis
- papular disorder
- mild depigmentation
- Severe irritation or hypersensitivity
- Cross-sensitivity with other halogenated hydroxyquinolines
- May discolour fair hair
- May cause severe neurotoxicity
