Administration

The combination of light kaolin and silver sulfadiazine is administered topically as a cutaneous spray. It should be applied directly to the affected wound or burn area after proper cleansing and debridement. The spray canister should be shaken well before use and held at a proper distance to ensure an even coating. It is for external use only and must be kept away from the eyes and mucous membranes. No specific dose adjustments are required for renal or hepatic impairment due to minimal systemic absorption, though caution is advised in severe renal impairment if applied over extensive burn areas. Precautions include monitoring for hypersensitivity reactions and potential localized argyria. It is generally safe for pediatric and elderly populations, but extensive application should be monitored.
