Adult Dose

Indication: Schizophrenia, Psychotic Disorders
Condition: Initially
Dose: by mouth (oral) – 30-75 mg/day
Frequency: divided every 6-12 hours
Note: initially

Dose: by mouth (oral) – 200 mg/day
Note: up to 800 mg/day in some patients; some patients may require 1-2 g/day

Child Dose

Indication: Behavioral Disorders, Hyperactivity
Age: greater than 6 months
Dose: Tablet/Injection – 50-100 mg
Frequency: daily
Note: by mouth (oral) or intramuscular; 200 mg/day or more may be necessary for older hospitalized patients

Age: greater than 6 months
Condition: outpatient
Dose: Rectal – 0.55 mg/kg
Frequency: every 4-6 hours as needed

Renal Dose
