Adult Dose

Indication: Acute Malaria
Age: Adult
Dose: Tablet – 5 tablets (Total 1250 mg)
Frequency: single dose
Note: If a full-treatment course does not lead to improvement within 48-72 hours, mefloquine should not be used for retreatment; an alternative therapy should be used. Similarly, if previous prophylaxis with mefloquine failed, mefloquine should not be used for curative treatment.
Indication: Acute Malaria
Age: Adult
Dose: Tablet – 750 mg initial dose, followed by 500 mg
Frequency: 6 to 12 hours after initial dose
Note: Total dose 1,250 mg. If a full-treatment course does not lead to improvement within 48-72 hours, mefloquine should not be used for retreatment; an alternative therapy should be used. Similarly, if previous prophylaxis with mefloquine failed, mefloquine should not be used for curative treatment.
