Adult Dose

Dose: Oral – Initially, 100 mg
Frequency: daily
Note: may adjust dose according to response up to 400 mg daily.
Indication: Hepatic cirrhosis with ascites and oedema

Condition: urinary Na/K ratio greater than 1
Dose: Oral – Initially, 100 mg
Frequency: daily

Child Dose

Dose: Oral – 3 mg/kg
Frequency: in divided doses
Note: initially, may adjust according to response
Indication: Diagnosis of primary hyperaldosteronism
Age: Child
Dose: Oral – 3 mg/kg
Frequency: in divided doses
Note: initially, may adjust according to response

Renal Dose

Clinical InformationAdministration Information
Condition: Renal impairment CrCl greater than 50 mL/min/1.73 m²
Dose: 12.5-25 mg
Frequency: once daily
Note: use maintenance dose of 25 mg once daily or every 12 hours after 4 weeks of treatment with potassium less than 5 mEq/L
Condition: Renal impairment CrCl 30-49 mL/min/1.73 m²
Dose: 12.5 mg
Frequency: once daily or every other day
Note: use maintenance dose of 12.5-25 mg once daily after 4 weeks of treatment with potassium less than 5 mEq/L
