Adult Dose

Indication: Prevention of hypokalaemia
Age: Adult
Dose: Oral – 20 mEq
Frequency: daily
Indication: Treatment of hypokalaemia
Age: Adult
Condition: mild potassium deficiency
Dose: Oral – 40-100 mEq/day
Frequency: twice daily to four times daily
Note: Give in divided doses if greater than 20 mEq/day.

Child Dose

Clinical InformationAdministration Information
Indication: Hypokalemia
Dose: by mouth (oral) – 0.5-2 mEq/kg
Frequency: every 12 hours
Indication: Hypokalemia
Dose: intravenous – 0.5 mEq/kg/hr
Duration: for 1-2 hours
Note: Monitor closely
Administration
  • Take with food
  • Take with full glass of water
